LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has declared that if Pakistan wins the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, each member of the national team will receive a $100,000 award.
In the run-up to the mega-event, Naqvi greeted the players at Gaddafi Stadium during their training session for the forthcoming tours of Ireland and England.
Those in attendance at the meeting were director of international cricket Usman Wahla, assistant coach Azhar Mehmood, and team selectors Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Yousuf.
After talking to players and offering them encouragement for the impending tours and the T20 World Cup 2024, which begins on June 1 in the United States and the West Indies, Chairman PCB also arranged a luncheon in celebration of the players and the team management.
He inspired the players to give it their all and help Pakistan win the World Cup by revealing the monetary reward for each player.
Mohsin Naqvi remarked, "I hope that you [players] will raise the Pakistani flag high and lead the team to success."
"All that matters is that you play and give it your all for Pakistan. You just need to show teamwork, and you'll win.
Additionally, Mohammad Rizwan, for reaching 3000 runs in T20 matches, and Naseem Shah, for getting 100 wickets in international cricket, received special green shirts from Chairman PCB.
In advance of their three-match T20I series against Ireland, the Pakistan men's cricket team is presently engaged in a three-match training camp here.
On May 10, 12, and 14, 2024, all three matches will take place at Clontarf in Dublin, and the match will begin at 3 PM local time.
The Green Shirts will use the three-match away series as a springboard to highlight their preparations for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA). This will be followed by four T20Is in England.
