The owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, has made an official request to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asking them to take into consideration using Peshawar as a venue for games in the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Afridi wrote an email to PCB authorities expressing his amazement that there were no planned matches for Peshawar and stressing the importance of playing at Zalmi's home field.

In addition, he called for cooperation to finish the last 20% of the construction at the Peshawar stadium, adding that Zalmi's team will visit Chief Minister Ali Amin of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 13 to discuss how to best coordinate preparations for the stadium.

Afridi also asked Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, to form a special committee in Peshawar to guarantee PSL matches would take place there.

Afridi confirmed these developments by posting information on social media and expressing hope about the Chief Minister's and PCB Chairman's support.

"Had a fruitful conversation with CM KP @AliAminKhanPTI. He has instructed the sports department to provide cash for the Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawar project, which makes up the remaining twenty percent. Peshawar Zalmi games should be held in Peshawar, according to Chairman PCB. Ahead of PSL, supporters can expect some exciting events at KP Soil, including a visit from international stars. On X, Afridi wrote, "InshaAllah.

Previous reports from Cricket Pakistan stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed dates for the 10th edition of the PSL that coincide with the Indian Premier League (IPL) during a working group meeting on Saturday in Lahore. This suggestion caused several franchises to oppose.

Proposed dates from early April to mid-May were discussed at the meeting, which was attended by COO Salman Naseer, senior PCB executives, team owners, and other officials (some participating virtually via Zoom call). Nonetheless, this suggested schedule raised concerns from a number of team owners.
