For the just finished Ireland and the forthcoming England T20I series, the Pakistan selection committee have revealed their 18-member squad.
Pakistan is the only one of the 20 competing teams which has not yet revealed their 15-man roster for the T20 World Cup in 2024.
To satisfy the ICC's deadline of May 24th, the 18-player roster announced for the previously mentioned series will be reduced to 15 players for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, which takes place next month, following the first T20I match against England in Leeds on May 22.
Salman Ali Agha, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Khan, Irfan Khan Niazi, and Haris Rauf were absent from the just finished Ireland series. Despite playing in just one game, Hasan Ali did not live up to the hype.
In order to guarantee his place in the final squad, Rauf, who is presently recuperating from an injury, needs to demonstrate his full health in the run-up to the World Cup.
It is expected that Abrar would be included on the World Cup roster, with Agha Salman and Hasan Ali being designated as the team's backup players. As travelling reserves, either Usman Khan or Irfan Khan Niazi will go with Hasan and Salman.
Pakistan is paired with long-standing rivals India, Ireland, Canada, and the United States in Group A for the World Cup.
