After his team defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the second Twenty20 International in Dublin, Pakistan's captain Babar Azam is now the most successful T20I captain in history.
The 29-year-old broke the record with 44 runs in 56 matches after winning his 45th game as captain and against Uganda's Brian Masaba.
Most T20I wins as captain:
Babar Azam: 45 (78 matches)
Brian Masaba: 44 (56)
Asghar Afghan: 42 (52)
Eoin Morgan: 42 (72)
Babar overtook former Australian captain Aaron Finch in the first Twenty20 International as the captain with the most appearances. While Finch completed his term with 76 games, he has now captained Pakistan in 78 games.
It should be mentioned in light of the performances of Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, and Muhammad Rizwan.
Babar stated during a post-match presentation that they intended to chase before the eighteenth over.
"I'm relieved; well done, batters all around. We choose to chase before the eighteenth over after bowling. Despite losing a few wickets early on, we managed to maintain our momentum," he remarked.

"Bowling was a wise choice because of the cloud cover and light rain." The second half's bowling was good, but Ireland deserves all the credit for how they played the final three overs," he continued.
"Fakhar has a great deal of experience and performed in a way that required good intent. On the plus side, we learned from this game and will strive to give it our all in the next one. Extremely happy to see Pakistani supporters; the atmosphere was great. I hope families would attend to support us in the upcoming game," he said.
On April 14, the series finale will take place at the same location.
