On May 10, Pakistan's maiden Twenty20 international match against Ireland is expected to include Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi in the playing XI as a pace battery.
The team will have both youthful and seasoned players in addition to Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Saim Ayub, and Muhammad Rizwan.
Star batsman and captain of Pakistan Babar Azam will open the inning alongside young gun Saim Ayub, and third-position batsman Mohammad Rizwan is perhaps the best option.
All-rounders Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, as well as hard-hitting batsmen Usman Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed, will bat in the middle order.
To provide the team another bowling option and batting alternatives in the deep, Salman Agha or Irfan Niazi might be added to the playing XI.
Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah make up Pakistan's pace battery, although speedster Mohammad Amir was unable to obtain a visa to join the team in Ireland.
It is important to note that while the rest of the team arrived in Ireland for the three-match series starting on Friday, Amir was unable to obtain a visa to travel there.
After the series is over, the Men in Green will go out to the UK to play in the four-match T20I series before the T20 World Cup 2024 gets underway.
The Ireland Cricket Board is still being contacted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in order to grant the pacer's visa.
Pakistan’s predicted XI:
Babar Azam (c), Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Irfan Niazi or Salman Agha, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah.
