For consumers weary of inflation, there's good news: ghee and cooking oil costs have dropped even more. The dealers organisation claims that during the previous month, the cost of ghee and oil under the A and B brands decreased by Rs 70 to Rs 75.

A brand's oil has dropped in price by Rs 75 per litre to Rs 525, and a brand's ghee has similarly decreased in price by Rs 25 to Rs 525. Similarly, B brand oil and ghee have dropped in price by Rs 70 and are currently available for Rs 380 per litre.

Positive news also includes a notable rise in Pakistan's rice exports.

The State Bank reports that from July to March 2024, rice exports totaled $2.690 billion, a 76.57% rise over the same time in the previous fiscal year. In the same period last year, rice exports brought in $1.522 billion.

Exports totaled $355.44 million in March alone, down from $374.23 million in February and $200.84 million in March of the prior year. Pakistan made $2.10 billion from rice exports in the fiscal year 2023.

Exports of basmati rice were valued at $631.33 million in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, a 45% rise over $435.53 million during the same period previous year.

Exports of non-basmati rice also increased dramatically, totaling $2.058 billion, up 89.37% from $1.087 billion the year before.

These patterns show improvements in the nation's export performance as well as consumer costs for necessities.
