DUBLIN (AP) — On Tuesday, Pakistan defeated Ireland by six wickets and won the Twenty20 series 2-1.

In order to tie the series, Pakistan managed to chase down 193 on Sunday with 3.1 overs remaining, and they easily overcame Ireland's 178 on Tuesday with three overs left.

In a second-wicket stand of 139 runs, Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan destroyed the home bowling attack.

Rizwan hammered 56 off 38 balls, while Babar hammered 75 off 42 balls. They were in the clear after being out in back-to-back overs.

Azam Khan's consecutive sixes sealed the victory, 181-4 to 178-7.

With the T20 World Cup taking place next month, Babar stated, "Big tournament coming up and this is good practice."

In the first three overs, Rizwan scarcely saw the strike, but after losing his opening partner Saim Ayub, he started to open up. Rizwan scored four boundaries and three sixes.

In his fourteenth Ben White over, Babar blasted four sixes and concluded with five maximums and six boundaries.

In T20s, he broke Virat Kohli's record with his 39th fifty-plus score.

Ireland was halfway through its innings and looking ready to surpass their Sunday total.

Andy Balbirnie, the opener, and captain Lorcan Tucker scored an explosive 85 runs for the second wicket. Balbirnie scored thirty-five.

Tucker scored 73 runs off of 41 balls, including 13 boundaries, but Ireland gave up when he was caught at deep extra cover by some excellent death bowling.

Imad Wasim concluded with an economical 1-23, Mohammad Amir provided 1-32, and Shaheen Shah Afridi finished with 3-14 from four overs.

Pakistan will begin a four-match Twenty20 series against England on Tuesday.
